Hurricane Willa is slated to pass over Las Islas Marias, Mexico, “very soon,” said the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) in its most recent update on Oct. 23.
Willa is a Category 4 hurricane with 130 mph winds, the NHC said. It’s slated to bring “life-threatening” conditions in only a few hours, the agency warned. Hurricane-force winds, heavy rain, and storm surge are expected in west-central Mexico.
