Homelessness in Toronto has more than doubled in the past three years, with more than 15,000 residents reported as being without housing in the fall of 2024, according to a recently released city survey.

Last year’s figure of 15,418 illustrates a marked increase in homeless individuals compared to 2021 when 7,347 were reported, according to the 2024 Street Needs Assessment homelessness survey.
