Health Canada approved on Sept. 9 the use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in children aged 6 months to less than 5 years old, making it the second vaccine approved for the youngest cohorts of children in Canada.

The federal agency said on its website that the dosage it has approved for children in this age group is a three-dose primary series of 3 micrograms each of Pfizer−BioNTech’s Comirnaty vaccine. The dosage for children aged 5 and older is a 2-dose primary series, 30 micrograms each for children aged 12 and older, or 10 micrograms each for those aged 5 to 11.
