Queensland’s Griffith University has been ordered to repay more than $8.34 million, including interest and superannuation, to 5,457 underpaid staff as part of an Enforceable Undertaking (EU) (pdf) with the Fair Work Ombudsman.
The university, which operates six campuses across the state, must also make a $175,000 “contrition payment” to the Cleaning Accountability Framework, a not-for-profit organisation that advocates for fair working conditions for cleaners.
