First Canadian in Space, Former Minister Marc Garneau Dies at 76

Canada’s first astronaut into space and former Liberal cabinet minister Marc Garneau has died at the age of 76.

A statement from his wife, Pamela, said Garneau passed away peacefully after a brief illness.
