Farmers in Poland, Spain, Italy, and Hungary demonstrated on Feb. 9 as part of continuing protests against European Union farming policies and demanded measures to combat production cost increases, reduced profits, and unfair competition from non-EU countries.

Farmers complain that the 27-nation bloc’s environmental and agriculture policies related to the European Green Deal are a financial burden and make their products more expensive than non-EU imports.
