Energy Minister Chris Bowen has moved to calm fears over fuel security, assuring Australians there is no immediate risk to petrol supplies and warning motorists not to panic buy.

Speaking at a press conference on March 3, Bowen said all of Australia’s strategic fuel reserves are now held either on the mainland or within the country’s exclusive economic zone—no longer stored overseas.
