Employer Fines for Breaches of Foreign Worker Rules on Track for Record Year

Federal inspectors are set to give out record fines against Canadian employers who break the rules around migrant labour regulations, according to recently released figures.
Inspectors have given out $3.7 million in fines in the first half of 2025 for numerous violations of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, according to data from the federal immigration department, which was first covered by Blacklock’s Reporter. In total, $4.1 million in fines were given out in 2024, and $1.5 million in 2023.
