Dutton Was the Least Popular Liberal Leader, New Study Shows

Just 8 percent of voters felt the opposition leader had won the televised debates against Anthony Albanese, again the lowest figure ever recorded.

Former Liberal Party Leader Peter Dutton was the least popular major party leader since the Australian Election Study (AES) began in 1987, researchers at the Australian National University and Griffith University have found.

Overall, on the basis of favourable minus unfavourable, on a score out of 10, Labor Leader Anthony Albanese scored 5.1 compared to Dutton’s 3.2.
