CTV News’ parent company said Lisa LaFlamme, the longtime chief anchor at the network who was recently removed from her position, chose not to bid farewell to her audience despite being given the chance.

In an internal email, the senior vice president of content development and news at Bell Media, Karine Moses, told staff members that the company intended to give LaFlamme a “proper on-air send-off,” reported CBC News. The email said the anchor “opted not to say goodbye to the public” during CTV’s national news broadcast.
