Canadian citizens travelling to the United Kingdom will soon need to obtain a travel authorization from the UK government before boarding a flight.

The UK Home Office announced in a Nov. 24 press release that visitors from 85 countries who can travel to the United Kingdom without a visa will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) starting Feb. 25, 2026. This includes citizens from Canada, the United States, and France.
