Canada’s most wanted fugitive is in police custody after being arrested in Montreal this week in connection with a shooting death at Toronto’s Yorkdale mall last summer.
The 24-year-old Montreal native was wanted by Toronto police on a first-degree murder charge linked to the death of 28-year-old Kashif Jamal Bentley-Jean, who was shot in the parking lot of the shopping centre last July.
Police have said Fuentes Gramajo is thought to be affiliated with Zone 43, a Montreal-based street gang with strong connections to Ontario and British Columbia.
“You don’t make it to the top of this list by stealing a car,” Matthews said. “If you’re at the top of this list, we believe you pose a serious threat to any person, in any place you may be. Bryan Fuentes Gramajo fits that bill.”
Fuentes Gramajo is scheduled to appear in court at a bail centre in Toronto on March 10, police said.
Toronto police say they are still looking for 28-year-old Montreal resident Jimmy Prudent in connection with the Yorkdale killing. He is also wanted for first-degree murder.

Murder Suspect Sought
Canada’s No. 5 most-wanted suspect is also still at large, and Montreal police have renewed their plea to the public for information on the whereabouts of 29-year-old Dylan Denis.Denis is still being actively sought in connection with a murder committed in the borough of Ahuntsic–Cartierville on May 14, 2024.
Officers responded to the borough at 8:20 p.m. where they found and treated a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He later died in hospital.
Media reports describe the victim as 27-year-old Christopher Shawn Jean Vilsaint, a rapper known as “Dirty S,” who has ties to street gangs.
Police arrested two other men in the case last June and issued a Canada-wide warrant for Denis, who has numerous ties to the Greater Montreal Area, particularly in Laval. Investigators said at the time that they “strongly” believed he was still in Quebec and was evading arrest with the help of accomplices.
Major Crimes Commander Mélanie Dupont said in the March 5 press release that Montreal police still believe there are people in the area with information about the case, and she urged them to come forward.
“We are convinced that there are citizens who have information that would be very useful to our criminal investigation aimed at arresting Dylan Denis,” Dupont said. “Anyone with information about him can contact 911 or go to a neighborhood police station.”
A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest. The reward is only valid until June 9.
Canada’s Most Wanted list is released by the BOLO Program, an acronym for Be On the Look Out. The program is run by a Canadian charity to raise public awareness about dangerous criminals.
Fuentes Gramajo is the second suspect on the list to be arrested this year. Thirteen people named on the list were apprehended in 2025.
