Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says his job as leader is to unite Australians as pressure continues to mount to establish a wide-ranging national royal commission into the Bondi terrorist attack.

In his most robust defence yet of why a security agency review was more appropriate, the prime minister said he did not want to politicise a moment of national grief.
