Baby Mysteriously Dies After Nap At Daycare—Parents’ Gesture Was Unexpected

|Updated:
Almost $8,000 has been raised for Queensland Emergency workers who helped revive a baby for long enough that his parents could say their final goodbyes, 9news reported.

Paramedics resuscitated nine-month-old Lucas Wockner after he was found unresponsive in his cot last Thursday at a Toowoomba daycare centre.

Lucas was then airlifted to Lady Client Hospital in Brisbane but died the following day.

The cause of death is unknown.

Thankful parents started a GoFundMe fundraiser for the emergency service and hospital staff for their efforts in saving her “beautiful, brave boy.” Almost $8,000 has been raised in two days.

In a Facebook post, mother Kathy Wockner wrote, “We still do not understand why he didn’t wake from his sleep on Thursday morning but we are so thankful for the team who resuscitated him so that we could have our time to say goodbye.”
