Australians have lost nearly $260 million (US$170 million) to scams in the first nine months of 2025, with authorities warning that criminals are intensifying their efforts ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
New figures from the National Anti-Scam Centre show Scamwatch received 159,319 scam reports between January and September this year.
