West Australian Govt Officials Attend CCP Events, Drawing Ire From Persecuted Groups

The state government in Western Australia (WA) is facing harsh criticism from human rights advocacy groups after the premier and cabinet members engaged regularly with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, including attending events celebrating the establishment of the Chinese communist regime.

In an open letter signed by groups persecuted in China—including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, and pro-democracy Hong Kong activists—they expressed their deepest concern over WA Premier Mark McGowan and his cabinet minister decision to attend the 72nd anniversary event for the CCP.
