A New South Wales (NSW) juvenile has been arrested for allegedly making multiple hoax calls to major educational and retail institutions in the United States—a practice that has come to be known as “swatting”.

He has been charged with 12 counts of using a telecommunications network with intention to commit a serious offence and one count of unauthorised possession of a prohibited firearm.
