Australia must overhaul its national environment laws to fast-track clean energy projects and better protect ecosystems to achieve its net zero targets, the Productivity Commission has said in a new report.

The interim report, “Investing in Cheaper, Cleaner Energy and the Net Zero Transformation,” released on Aug. 4, proposes amendments to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999.
