Opioid-related deaths in Alberta fell to their lowest level in over four years this past May, continuing a steady decline observed in recent months.

Monthly drug poisoning deaths dropped to 72 in May, a 55 percent decrease from the same month last year and the lowest number since March 2020, when 71 deaths were recorded, according to the latest provincial government data.
