Alberta is introducing new rules to address predatory towing in the province, including fines of up to $1,000 for those who break them.

Transportation Minister Devin Dreeshen said a “small number of bad actors” in the industry are charging excessive fees for towing services without providing necessary information to vehicle owners, and sometimes without consent.
