A Hamilton, Ont., man is facing 19 charges after city police alleged he accidentally shot himself during a failed home invasion.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting near the city centre at approximately 9:30 p.m. on May 2 and found a man with “serious” gunshot injuries, the Hamilton Police Service said in a press release the following day.
