More than four in five Canadians consider oil and gas an essential component of Canada’s economy but support for this perspective has seen a slight decline since the beginning of this year, a new poll suggests.
Eighty-four percent of the 1,034 Canadians surveyed by Nanos from July 31 to Aug. 6 described oil and gas as “important” to the country’s current economy, compared to 88 percent in a February poll.
