A soldier who was critically injured in a truck rollover during a training exercise has died of his injuries. The single-vehicle crash was reported on Hervey Range Road, at the Townsville Field Training Area west of Townsville in north Queensland, at about 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

Multiple paramedic units and a rescue helicopter attended the scene, Queensland Ambulance said. One patient “with life-threatening injuries” was assessed at the scene.
