A French woman who saved the lives of over 100 people during World War II has died. Andree Peel, known as Agent Rose, was being lined up in a Nazi death squad when liberating American forces arrived.

She passed away at the age of 105 in England, according to the Telegraph. Peel is credited for helping American and British troops escape from Nazi-occupied Europe during the war. She worked for the resistance and helped Allied aircraft land and take off, sometimes using makeshift torches.

After the war, she received several medals, accolades, and even a personal letter from Winston Churchill, who commended her efforts during the war. After living in France, she married an Englishman and moved to England. She documented her experiences in her autobiographical account, “Miracles Do Happen.”
