The gun range owner who drew national attention for declaring her business a “Muslim Free Zone” will make a run for Arkansas governor.

In a long blog post published when she made the decision, Jan Morgan said she has read much of the Koran and feels bothered by some of the verses.

Combined with the string of violence committed by members of ISIS, the radical Muslim terrorist group, Morgan said she was compelled to protect her customers and herself by refusing entry to Muslims.

“I do not care about their religious beliefs until or unless those beliefs command them to commit violent crimes against innocent people and I witness those crimes increasing, as we all have lately,” she wrote.

Highlighting one incident, she said two Middle Eastern men entered her range and spoke to each other frequently in Arabic while not understanding much English.

“Their behavior was so strange, it frightened my patrons. No one would enter the range to shoot while they were there. Some of my members left and the people who remained at my facility said they did so out of fear for my safety,” she said.

Morgan’s gun range, “The Gun Cave,” in Hot Springs, Arkansas is still open and it appears she faced no recrimination for her ban.

Now the Republican is mounting a run for governor of the state.

“As we embark on the dawn of a new day and new year in Arkansas, I am excited about the future potential of our beautiful state and her people,” said the Second Amendment advocate in a news release.

Morgan said she’s been talking to people across the state for the past six months to see what they know about a wide range of issues.

“I am excited because I have discovered the skeptics were wrong when they said the people of Arkansas are not educated on the issues in their state, and fall for the lies of their polished career politicians who are taxing them in to poverty, regulating them out of business and enslaving them with government entitlements,” she said.

The Donald Trump supporter will be among those challenging incumbent Governor Asa Hutchinson, a Democrat.
