NEW YORK—A woman was injured while walking through Central Park Tuesday afternoon when a portion of a tree fell and hit her.

According to NY1, the woman was hit by a 12 to 15-foot piece of the tree that fell from about 40 feet in the air.

Witnesses said the woman was walking with a man and a child when it happened. She was knocked to the ground and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital.

“She had a neck brace, but I couldn’t tell, and she looked conscious. She was talking to her husband,” a witness told NY1.

The woman’s condition is unknown.
