A Missouri woman found herself in jail after a friend posted a photo of her allegedly smoking meth near her baby to Facebook.

The picture began circulating on Facebook after someone who said they were a friend of Ashley Ann Lewis, 28, posted it on the social media platform.

The post, which has since been deleted, said: “Please help my friend Ashley Lewis and I stop using meth. We can’t even stop with a baby around. We need help!”

The picture appears to show Lewis smoking meth near her six-month-old child.

Police in Richmond in Ray County became aware of the photo and located the hotel where Lewis and her child were residing, reported Fox4.

They found eight glass smoking pipes, which tested positive for methamphetamine residue, along with other drug paraphernalia.

Lewis admitted the pipes belonged to her.

“She said the picture was about a month old, and she did indicate that it was her smoking meth in the picture,” said Det. Scott Bagley with the Richmond Police Department.

Lewis has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment, and faces up to 15 years in prison.

The young daughter has been put into protective custody.
