A Michigan woman has been fired for putting laxatives in brownies she made for a party at work.

The party was thrown for an employee who was moving on.

The woman who made the brownies, not identified by name but said to be 47 years old, had an ongoing feud with the employee who was departing, reported Fox 2.

Another employee who learned of the additive informed managers before anyone ate the brownies.

The woman who baked the brownies was fired over what she did, though she'll face no charges since no one ate the brownies.

Police officers were called to the company, MMI Engineered Solutions in Saline, on May 3, when the incident occurred, reported MLive.com.

Saline Police Chief Jerrod Hart said that managers at the company had confiscated the brownies and handed them over to officers when the authorities arrived.

The perpetrator initially denied adding anything to the brownies but, when informed that they would be forensically-tested for tampering, she admitted to baking in a cube of laxatives.

Hart said criminal charges may have been brought if anyone had eaten the brownies. “A lot of times you see it in movies or TV shows where someone tries to do this or play a joke, but it’s very serious,” Chief Hart said. “It’s a criminal act.”
In a similar case, three teenagers in New York who allegedly added laxatives to a cake they gave to teachers faced assault charges.
