MADISON—Mike Zaremba had seen videos of ballots being tossed out, read stories about nursing home residents being asked to fill out ballots, and other reports that point to election fraud. Demanding a recount, he joined a Stop the Steal rally in Madison, Wisconsin on Nov. 7, 2020.

“What are you going to do about that? Challenge it in court. Ask for a recount, ask for all of this to be re-certified,” Zaremba said.

“I’m here today because I see my country in grave danger, because I’m very frightened by the fraud that I’m seeing, the violence I’m seeing. All the things that have happened in Portland and Minneapolis and the rioting and the burning and all the damage and destruction, this can’t be tolerated. We can’t tolerate that, we have to stand up to it,” Zaremba said.

“Look at this, listen to how these people talk to us, listen to what they’re doing,” he said, referring to counter-protestors. “You can hear it on the microphone, it’s just pure hatred directed at anyone who does not agree with them. That’s why I’m here, is to stand up against that.”

Zaremba said he is worried about foreign money and foreign interference in the elections, and also about disinformation and how uninformed Americans might be because of how difficult it is to find true information.

“You’ve got to shop around, you’ve got to go to a lot of different news sources, a lot of them to get a clear picture of what’s happening. You can’t get it all from Fox, you can’t get it all from any one source, not even you guys as good as you are, you’ve really got to hear more opinions than just one,” Zaremba said.

“Look for the truth, speak the truth no matter what. If you’re afraid, that’s your calling. If you are afraid to speak the truth, that is your calling to speak it,” Zaremba said.
