New emails released by WikiLeaks show that Assistant Attorney General Peter J. Kadzik shared information about the Congressional investigation of Hillary Clinton with John Podesta, her campaign manager.

“There is a HJC oversight hearing today where the head of our Civil Division will testify. Likely to get questions on State Department emails,” Kadzik told Podesta on May 19, 2015, according to the WikiLeaks leak.

The email subject line is “heads up.”

He also updated Podesta on the FOIA case on Clinton’s emails.

His email continues, “Another filing in the FOIA case went in last night or will go in this am that indicates it will be awhile (2016) before the State Department posts the emails.”

Podesta appears to have forwarded the information to several campaign aides. “Additional chances for mischief,” Podesta stated.

Kadzik, also the chief of the Department of Justice’s office of legislative affairs, sent a letter to several Democratic senators Monday, saying the DOJ “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible” regarding a review of thousands of emails that might be relevant to Clinton’s emails.

FBI director James Comey last Friday sent a letter to Congress, saying he’s re-opening an investigation into the newly discovered emails.

When Podesta was an aide to former President Bill Clinton, his attorney was Kadzik. In 2008, Podesta praised Kadzik to Obama campaign operative Cassandra Butts, according to a leaked email published by WikiLeaks.

“Willing to help. Fantastic lawyer. Kept me out of jail. I’m sure Christine knows him. Wants to help. Think he would be an excellent vet lead,” he wrote in the email.

WikiLeaks has released more than two dozen batches of Podesta’s emails, which were apparently sourced from his Gmail account.
