Last night (May 3, 2014) Marcos Maidana in my opinion won a very close fight against the still undefeated Floyd Mayweather.

This was a very close fight but in the end I believe that Maidana was robbed of a victory. Maidan dominated the beginning of the  fight winning five out of the first six rounds (in my opinion). Maidana controlled those six rounds by begin first, and pressing Floyd Mayweather against the ropes. Madiana also did what I thought he should do; he attacked Mayweathers body. Madiana turned the ring into a phone booth; he keep Mayweather away from the center of the ring , established the left hook to the body, and would also, after attacking the body, utilize the over hand right very well.

After the six round Mayweather made adjustment that made this a very close fight. Mayweather got off the ropes, and started using his amazing hand speed and boxing ability. Mayweather utilized his strait right hand, and after the sixth started to defend the body attack very well. Mayweather would also move the fight back to the center of the ring in the 9th and 10th round. Being in the center of the ring allowed Mayweather to out box Maidana, and control the tempo of the fight. I’m very surprised that Mayweather let Maidana press him up against the ropes the way he did. I thought Mayweather was going to do what he did in the 9th and 10th and stay in the center of the ring, and out box Madiana to win.

This was a very close fight for two reason one Mayweather made the proper adjustments, and Madiana stopped attacking the body. After the 6th Madiana stopped attacking the body, the way he did the fist half of the fight. I believe that the reason for this was because of the adjustment Mayweather made. Mayweather started moving a lot more, this allowed him to control the distance, which keep Maidana from getting inside.

This fight was very close, the closest Mayweather fight I have ever seen. In my opinion Mayweather lost this fight because he allowed Maidana to control the tempo. Maidana made this an ugly fight; he forced Mayweather to fight against the ropes, and threw punches that landed just about everywhere. In my opinion there probably won’t be a rematch. Should there be a rematch yes, but Floyd got the victory (not a victory he deserved), and I think Mayweather may feel that he’s seen enough of Maidana for one year.
