The White House announced a turkey duel on Tuesday, with people going onto a portion of its website and deciding between two turkeys.
“The Gobble” features two turkeys, Caramel and Popcorn, and invites users to learn about each bird, and listen to their gobble.
“Then make your selection,” the White House says.
Early on, it appeared that the losing turkey would be slaughtered.
However, after some outrage expressed online, the text was amended to include:
“Both turkeys will be pardoned, but only the American people will decide which bird takes the title.”
