TechCrunch reported about Apple’s new SIM card, Apple SIM.  With this new SIM card, you will be able to change carriers with ease instead of having to buy a new SIM card if you want to switch between AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile.  Now you just need to go through the settings menu on your device and select your carrier.

As of right now, the Apple SIM comes in the box with the iPad Air 2 and unfortunately is unavailable to be purchased separately.  Apple states that:

“The Apple SIM gives you the flexibility to choose from a variety of short-term plans from select carriers in the U.S. and UK right on your iPad. So whenever you need it, you can choose the plan that works best for you — with no long-term commitments. And when you travel, you may also be able to choose a data plan from a local carrier for the duration of your trip.”

It will be interesting to see what comes next for Apple SIM.
