When Villanova’s Kris Jenkins nailed the buzzer-beating, championship-winning three-pointer against North Carolina on April 4 it gave the Wildcats their second national title and set off a wild celebration on the court.
It also set off a crazy celebration at The Pavilion, where Villanova plays their home games. Here’s the students’ reaction there:
Jenkins scored 14 points on the day and the game-winning three was his second trey of the game. It also capped off a wild final minute.
North Carolina’s Marcus Paige hit an incredible double-clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 74 with 4.7 seconds remaining and cap a 10-point comeback over the last five minutes. The game-winner overshadowed a great three by the clutch-shooting Paige.
Paige scored 21 points and hit four of his seven three-point attempts. Had this three forced overtime, it would be remembered right up there with the best of them.
