Following the U.S.’s 2-1 victory over Ghana in the FIFA World Cup, Joe Biden celebrated with the U.S. National Team in their locker room.

A charismatic and laid-back Biden cracked jokes, congratulated the team, and shook hands with various players.

Particularly amusing was when left-back DaMarcus Beasley remarked that he had kept a coin from “last time” and how Biden now “owed him a drink” because of this.

Considering that Beasley has officially become the first American to play in four World Cups, one can assume “last time” refers to the previous World Cup.

Biden then met with U.S. star goalie Tim Howard, to whom he introduced his nephew and goalie-playing niece that accompanied him.

Biden closed by remarking that both him and the governor were rooting for the U.S. while sitting right next to the Ghana Vice President, congratulated the team again, and encouraged Tim Howard to “keep going” for the next World Cup.

Howard will be 39 by then.

And his final remainder to Beasley: “Anytime you want to recollect, give me a call man.”
