Bernie Sanders fans went wild at a rally in Oregon on March 25, after a little bird interrupted the Vermont senator’s speech.

A bird flew onto the edge of lectern as Sanders was speaking, an incident that was interpreted as an auspicious sign.

“I know it doesn’t look like it, but that little bird is really a dove asking us for world peace. No more wars!” Sanders said, to roaring applause.

The bird inspired a hashtag, #BirdieSanders, on Twitter, and even its own concept art.

Some joked that the bird was an endorsement of Sanders by “nature.”
