The Aquarium of the Pacific gave a sea lion a selfie stick and it’s awesome.

Watching someone try to work a selfie stick can be flat out irritating. It’s awkward at best. But that all changes when it’s a sea lion. Hugh, one of the handlers at the Aquarium of the Pacific, made the selfie stick by attaching a GoPro camera to a pipe, and putting a float on the end to balance out the weight.

Milo the sea lion tried it out during an early morning training session and if it looks like he’s done this before, it’s because he has. Hugh has attached cameras to Milo in the past to let us all see what the world looks like through a sea lion’s perspective.

The first camera was mounted to a custom made ring Hugh put together. Another sea lion, Harpo, also gets in on the action sometimes. But it’s not just the sea lions who are getting in on this. Hugh made a selfie stick for Charlie the Otter - who takes some of the best selfies to ever hit the internet. And that’s not an exaggeration.

Hugh loves the animals at the aquarium and his blog is filled with videos capturing all kinds of critters in and out of the water. It’s awesome and proves that selfies of all kinds should just be left to the animals from now on.
