The Washington Post Co. has named Richard Wagoner, the former General Motors Corp. CEO, to its board of directors.
Wagoner was forced out of his position at the nation’s biggest automaker after a career of 32 years at GM by the Obama administration last year.
GM, which emerged from a federally assisted bankruptcy last year, named Edward Whitacre as its new chief executive. Washington Post’s shares increased $7.56 to $447.02 on Thursday.
