The Walking Dead season 5, episode 2 saw Bob in extreme danger after getting captured by Gareth and the remnants of Terminus.

Bob appeared to get bitten by a walker before later getting captured by Gareth’s group.

As the spoilers indicated before the episode, the bite wasn’t confirmed but he seemed odd, such as seeming to say goodbye to Sasha before going outside to cry.

In the comic books, Rick’s group is accosted by a group of cannibals and one member--Dale--is captured. The cannibals begin eating Dale, not realizing that he was bitten by a zombie, thus they were eating “tainted meat.”

The theory was that since Dale was bitten, the flesh already had components of the virus in it, so the cannibals would then turn into walkers.

Comic creator Robert Kirkman said at a forum, though, that it’s not known if the “tainted meat” had any effect on The Hunters because of the short interval between the consumption of the meat and their deaths, and when their bodies are burnt (Rick’s group kills all of the cannibals).

UPDATE: Bob was captured and Gareth’s group started to eat him. See a video preview for episode 3 here.

The spoilers indicate that the “tainted meat” scene happens in episode 2 of the television show, which will air this Sunday, and that Gareth and his cohorts are the television show equivalent of The Hunters (the group of cannibals) .

“Bob gets something eaten (likely his leg but it wasn’t specified to us). He doesn’t say anything to them about ’tainted meat' but you know they are eating it and that it is tainted. Bob is too emotional from realizing what has happened,” the Spoiling Dead Fans said.

Other possible spoilers floating around indicate that the last few minutes of episode 2 are “gruesome,” indicating that the scene happens then.

The page says that Rick’s group does not realize Bob has been captured. That means they'll likely figure it out in episode 3 and mount a rescue attempt.

The season 5 trailer already confirmed that Gareth and the other survivors from Terminus would overtake Rick’s group, and that they would threaten them once again. It’s unclear what leverage Gareth has or believes he has, but Rick threatens him back, telling him that “these people are my family, and if you hurt any of them I will kill you.

Rick threatened Gareth in episode 1, telling him that he was going to kill him with a machete.

The Terminus residents were confirmed as cannibals in episode 1.

The spoilers also said that Beth--the only member of the group not reunited in episode 1--and Morgan--who surprisingly appeared in the post-credits scene in the premiere--will not appear in the episode.

“We have a brief glimpse that something relating to Beth’s story is coming but no appearance from her,” confirmed Unreality TV.

Two video previews for the episode have already emerged but a third has come out. The third one is from New Zealand, and shows some intense action with Bob and others in some type of flooded room battling walkers.

Episode 2 is also the confirmed introduction for Father Gabriel, a character from the comics who has some secrets of his own. The video previews indicate that Rick’s group comes across him in the woods and saves him from a small group of walkers. Rick is suspicious of the pastor.
