The Walking Dead season 5 hits the midway point on November 30 with episode 8, and fans are wondering when the AMC show will return.
The midseason finale marks the final new episode of the year.
New episodes will start back up with episode 9 on February 8, 2015.
Few concrete spoilers have emerged for the back end of season 5, but those that have indicate that the group will quickly leave Atlanta and head toward Washington, D.C.
Despite Eugene admitting he’s not a scientist, the group likely believes they’ll find a good place to hole up if they go that way.
Along the way they are expected to meet a recruiter for the Alexandria Safe Zone, a location that will be familiar to fans of the comics.
For those unfamiliar with the location, it’s a fortified neighborhood outside D.C. that a group has made their home. Unlike Terminus, the group actually actively seeks people to join them, sending out recruiters who watch groups at a distance. If they like what they see, they approach the groups and ask them to come live in the safe zone.
Although it’s way too far away to determine what happens in the season finale, some fans believe the Safe Zone will be attacked in the finale, with Carl being among those injured.
