The Walking Dead 129 comic will be released soon, on July 9, 2014.

The issue is part of the shift in the comic following the successful completion of the war with Negan.

It was revealed in 127 that Negan is now being held in a room at Rick’s compound Alexandria following the loss. Rick’s group has transformed the area into a true barter system where peace reigns, and are embarking on increasingly complex tasks, like steering zombie herds and producing much of their new food.

A small group of survivors that stumbled upon Rick’s group steering a zombie herd was introduced. They’re led by Magna.

In 128, Eugene and Rosita’s increasingly cold relationship is explored, while Andrea interviews Magna.

Carl and Josh become closer while Rick and Eugene greet Olivia and Mikey.

In the woods, Ken and Marco stumble upon a pack of wild horses, barely escaping.

Rick tells Carl that they’ll soon travel to the Hilltop.

And the comic ends with Magna and her group stating that they think something is fishy about the whole set-up, as something too good to be true usually is.

Not much is known about 129’s exact plot, although editor Sean Mackiewicz previously said that Rick and Carl would go on a “road trip” during the issue.

Also, Daryl will not be introduced in the episode. That was an April Fools joke from Skybound. Creator Robert Kirkman has said that Daryl will not appear in the comic.
