Wade Phillips, the Houston Texans defensive coordinator, was named interim head coach amid a a health scare involving coach Gary Kubiak.

On Sunday night during a game against the Colts, Kubiak collapsed at halftime and was taken to the hospital.

ESPN SportsCenter reported on Wednesday that Phillips was named interim head coach. 

Phillips has been running the Texans practice as Kubiak recovers.

Phillips previously was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys before he took a job with Houston.
