Waco, Texas: Flooding Reported in Some Areas; I-35 and U. Parks

A flash flood watch was issued for Waco, Texas, but there were reports Friday morning that flooding is already underway. Police said that Interstate 35 and University Parks is flooded.

A flash flood watch was issued for Waco, Texas, but there were reports Friday morning that flooding is already underway. Police said that Interstate 35 and University Parks is flooded.

The National Weather Service said an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected. Two inches of rain fell over night in Waco, reported the Waco Tribune.

The flash flood watch is effective until Saturday morning.

On Twitter, the Waco Police posted images of flooding along I-35 and University Parks.

“Now stay out of area!!!” it wrote, adding that vehicles are stalled in “high water.”

“Street flooding being reported @ U.Parks and Webster now as well,” police added.
