“They’re probably coming to check us out” could have been a crab fisherman’s famous last words.
The above video shows a few baby killer whales getting dangerously close to a fishing boat with three young men on board. For those who are interested, the three were fishing off the coast of Anderson Island in Washington State when the orcas appeared.
“We were in a little aluminium rowboat and we think that the sound of the rope being pulled along the side of the boat is what attracted the babies because right after we pulled up the pot, the pod headed right at us,” says Steven Sloan about the video, according to Kelowna Now. In the video, they eventually surface to check the boat out.
