Amidst the dubious cases athletes have been implicated in recently, it’s nice to see the positive impacts that athletes can give every once in a while.
The video begins with ‘grandma’ challenging Dwyane Wade to a game of one-on-one on her 90th birthday. This challenge was issued October 9th.
The challenge became a reality on October 21st for both Dwyane Wade and the now 90-year-old Illuminada Magtoto.
“I want to play with you. Now I’m 90”, said Magtoto as the two challengers embraced for the first time.
Through the video, we catch footage of Magtoto shooting, and even throwing “lobs” to Dwyane Wade.
“Now, I feel like I’m very very happy. I’m very grateful. This is my dream come true,” said Magtoto regarding how she felt after finally meeting Wade.
“This is more important than anything. The team we have spent together — I‘ll think we’ll both remember it for a long time,” added Wade.
