The government of Luolong District in Luoyang City, Henan Province, issued a notice in May that it will relocate the subordinate Liu Fu Village for two months. The villagers indicated that the relocation procedure is totally illegal. Some residents even took gas tanks up to their roofs to protest the forced demolitions.
According to a notice published by the government of Luolong District in Luoyang City, areas involved in the Xin Yi Street South Extension project and Liu Fu Village will need to complete relocation between May 19 and June 20, and other areas before July 20. The notice also mentioned that those who do not cooperate in the relocation will be dealt with in accordance with the law. However, the residents of Liu Fu Village indicated that the local government did not follow legal procedures in the relocation.
