Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with an ankle injury, according to a report on the NFL’s website.
Harvin actually injured the ankle November 4 against Seattle and hasn’t played since. Up to that point he had been one of the more effective receivers in the league with 62 catches for 677 yards.
The 24-year-old Harvin is in his fourth year in the league and though he’s clearly one of the most exciting players in the game, his full-season stats have yet to show that—mainly due to injuries. Harvin’s best season, statistically-speaking, was in 2011 when he had 967 yards receiving and 345 yards rushing and found the end zone eight times.
