Building on his inaugural U.N. speech last year, President Donald Trump expressed his desire for a world where nations protect their sovereignty, but show tolerance toward other countries.

Trump’s address to the General Assembly lasted around 30 minutes and touched on his domestic success with the economy and jobs, before moving onto foreign affairs.

“The United States is stronger, safer, and a richer country than it was when I assumed office less than two years ago,” Trump said. “We are standing up for America and for the American people. And we are also standing up for the world. This is great news for our citizens and for peace-loving people everywhere.”

Trump took a strong stance against globalism, while denouncing socialism and communism.

Sen. Cruz Driven Out of Washington Restaurant by Anti-Kavanaugh Protesters

Sen. Ted Cruz was heckled out of a restaurant in Washington by a crowd of far-left protesters on Sept. 24, in the latest effort by activists to disrupt the lives of Republican officials in public.

Cruz (R-Texas) and his wife Heidi were preparing to be seated in the restaurant, when a group of protesters entered the establishment and began yelling at them. The protesters confronted Cruz about his position over the allegations against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, but he declined to answer and soon exited.

“We believe survivors!” the group chanted in one clip, shared by the far-left group “Smash Racism DC.” According to the group’s Twitter page, it is affiliated with Antifa and also supports the movement to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Bill Cosby Gets 3 to 10 Years in Prison for Sexual Assault

His Hollywood career and good-guy image in ruins, an 81-year-old Bill Cosby was sentenced on Sept. 25, to 3 to 10 years behind bars for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman, becoming the first celebrity of the #MeToo era to be sent to prison.

The punishment all but completed the dizzying, late-in-life fall from grace for the comedian, former TV star, and breaker of racial barriers.

“It is time for justice. Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come,” Montgomery County Judge Steven O’Neill said. He quoted from victim Andrea Constand’s own statement to the court, in which she said Cosby took her “beautiful, young spirit and crushed it.”

Brave Alpaca Mom Stops Cougar Attack on Washington Farm

With stitches in his neck, taking antibiotics, and on pain medication, Lucky the alpaca might not appear to be so aptly named.

But, dragged by a cougar from his pen on a Washington farm, the baby alpaca is only alive thanks to his brave mom, said his owners.

The dramatic attack at Cedar Creek Alpaca Farm in Bingen, Washington, was caught on surveillance camera.

His owners said they are “astonished” the baby alpaca, known as a cria, survived being dragged off from under his mom’s nose.

“It is the scariest thing we have seen,” wrote Angela Rogers, on an online funding site set up to help with his recovery costs. “We are calling him Lucky. He is the luckiest alpaca to survive such trauma.”

Beluga Whale Pops Up in Thames River

A Beluga whale was spotted on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the River Thames near London, hundreds of miles from its normal Arctic habitat, naturalists said.

Video footage showed the white mammal surfacing in the Thames near Coalhouse Fort in Essex.

“This is the most southerly sighting of a beluga we have ever seen around these shores,” Lucy Babey, head of science and conservation at the ORCA charity, was quoted as saying by The Mirror newspaper.

The last sighting in UK waters was in 2015 when they were spotted off northeastern England near the Northumberland coastline, but they left shortly afterward, she added.
