President Donald Trump said asylum-seekers will have to “lawfully present themselves” at a U.S. port of entry, in remarks that addressed what he called a “crisis at the southern border.”

“Migrants seeking asylum will have to present themselves lawfully at a port of entry,” Trump told reporters in the Roosevelt Room at the White House on Nov. 1. “Those who choose to break our laws and enter illegally will no longer be able to use meritless claims to gain automatic admission into our country.”

The executive order on immigration will be issued next week, Trump said.

Heather Nauert Offered UN Ambassador Job, Would Replace Nikki Haley: Reports

Heather Nauert, currently the State Department spokeswoman, has been offered the job of Ambassador to the United Nations, according to reports on Nov. 1.
One official told Fox News that Nauert, 48, has been offered the job to replace Nikki Haley, who announced her resignation in early October, but said she'd stay on until the end of the year to give the White House time to choose her successor.

President Donald Trump said on Oct. 9, that he would pick a successor in two to three weeks.

Nauert met with President Trump in the Oval Office on Oct. 29, reported Fox News. It’s not known if they discussed the position then.

Rare East Asian Duck Found in New York City

A rare duck turned up in the Central Park Pond a few weeks ago.

Local bird watchers have been watching its every move.

The first reports of the exotic bird reached the bird-watching masses three weeks earlier via Barrett’s Manhattan Bird Alert Twitter account.

“There’s a lot of mystery surrounding this duck because we don’t know how it got here,” said Barrett.

This mandarin duck is native to East Asia. It’s been managing to draw crowds with cameras.
