President Donald Trump praised law enforcement for finding a suspect so quickly in the apprehension of a person linked to the suspicious packages that have been sent to high-profile figures this week.

“I am pleased to inform you that law enforcement has apprehended the suspect and taken him into custody,” he said to applause from the crowd at a young black American summit at the White House on Oct. 26, shortly after Cesar Sayoc, 56, was apprehended in Florida.

“These terrorizing acts are despicable and have no place in our country. I’ve instructed authorities to spare no resource or expense in finding those responsible and bringing them to swift and certain justice, and we will prosecute them, him, her, whoever it may be, to the fullest extent of the law.”

Trump said that political violence isn’t part of America and cannot be allowed to become a part of the country.

Trump Connects with Black Youth at Young Black Leadership Summit

Chants of “USA, USA, USA,” fist pumps, and cheers greeted President Donald Trump as he entered the East Room of the White House to speak at a Young Black Leadership Summit on Oct. 26.

“One day, one of you is going to be standing—it could be three or four of you actually—but you’re going to be standing right here,” he said to cheers from the crowd. “I have no doubt.”

He then asked all presidential hopefuls in the room to raise their hands, which a majority of them did.

“It’s an ambitious group, that’s great,” he said.

According to exit poll data, which is the closest albeit flawed approximation we have on voter demographics, Trump did not get the majority of black voters in 2016.

About 8 percent of blacks voted for the president, according to CNN, or 3 percent according to the Pew Research Center.
But his approval rate among blacks seems to have risen since he took office, whether you believe the right-leaning Rasmussen poll that gave him a 36 percent approval rating among blacks on Aug. 15,or the Reuters poll on Sept. 28 that gave him 15 percent approval, or the Quinnipiac poll on Aug. 14 that gave him 9 percent approval rating and a 10 percent approval rating for his policies among blacks. The most recent Gallup poll gives him 10 percent among blacks.

NBC Officially Cancels Megyn Kelly Show, Will Replace With ‘Today’ Co-anchors

NBC has officially canceled “Megyn Kelly Today” amid rampant speculation about the future of her show, after her show aired reruns on Thursday and Friday.

“Megyn Kelly Today is not returning,” an NBC News spokesperson said on Oct. 26. “Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other TODAY co-anchors.”

The cancellation was ostensibly over comments Kelly made earlier in the week questioning whether blackface or whiteface is racist, but a number of other reasons have emerged or been known for a while, such as the show’s mediocre ratings and Kelly’s clashes with network executives.

Good Gourd! It’s National Pumpkin Day!

Friday is national pumpkin day!

Pumpkins are a very flexible fruit, used to make bars, cookies, coffee, cheesecake, pasta, and oatmeal.

And the ubiquitous pumpkin spice flavoring is everywhere.

In addition to its edibility, pumpkins are also fun for families to carve and decorate for trick-or-treaters.

The United States produces one-and-a-half billion pounds of pumpkins. Illinois is the leading pumpkin producer.
